Michelle Pfeiffer Concerned About Fruit Contamination from Edible Coatings by Bill Gates-Backed Company

According to cinemadrame News Agency, American Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Pfeiffer claimed on Instagram that Bill Gates is involved in “contaminating” the United States’ food supply. She expressed concern about the edible coatings produced by the company Apeel.

Last Thursday, Pfeiffer shared a video in which it was claimed: “Organic produce is no longer healthy. Bill Gates’ Apeel got approval from the USDA.”

She added: “Apeel (a plant-based, edible coating designed to make fruits and vegetables last longer) has just been approved, and now they are coating ‘organic’ produce in something we can neither see nor wash off. It’s very concerning.”

The 67-year-old actress, known for “Scarface” and “Batman Returns,” then shared a list of stores with her three and a half million Instagram followers that do not use Apeel-coated products.

Gates does not directly collaborate with Apeel but has provided financial support in the past. James Rogers, the company’s founder, revealed in 2012 that he received $100,000 from the Gates Foundation.

Jenny Du, Apeel’s co-founder, told the Associated Press that the preservatives can be easily washed off with water: “It’s applied to the surface of fresh fruits and vegetables to maintain moisture and reduce oxidation.”

Gates has been under scrutiny in recent years and is being questioned for his association with Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of child trafficking. He had previously stated that his friendship with Epstein was a “big mistake.”
